LORD MAYORS SHOW 2001
OWA worked with six schools on Tower Hamlets making water creatures mounted on bikes, this gave us a collection of 12 birds and creatures.

50th Birthday Celebration OWA worked with Mallory school Art department and made large bird puppets to be carried on the procession. Large flags were also made at youth clubs and a giant 50th birthday cake.

STREETS ALIVE - LEWISHAM
Working at various venues, OWA produced four large banners, which were hung around Lewisham Clocktower. Plastic, withy and tissue flowers were also made and hung on lampposts surrounding the market area.

LEWISHAM WINTER FESTIVAL '01
Working with Kilmorie Primary School, we made hand held large silver flowers for the children to carry on the procession, accompanying a giant Snow Queen lantern. The Snow Queen was then hung as part of Lewisham Shopping Centre's Christmas decorations.

OWA were one of five groups who took part in making flowers in schools and at on site workshops

Along with other groups OWA facilitated workshops in schools making flowers, snowflakes, leaves and butterflies, and also took part in the on site workshops

  THAMES FESTIVAL 2000

OWA worked with 10 London schools to produce large birds mounted on bikes. This was achieved by providing an INSET day for the teachers and providing them with worksheets. We then went into schools offering hands on support. The children also made fish hats.
 
     
  THAMES FESTIVAL 2001

OWA were commissioned to build a centrepiece, which became the THAMES SERPENT.
 
Serpent We also made various bike sculptures out and about at other festival to add to the collection.
OWA ran 3 days of open workshops on the Southbank encouraging people to join the procession.
At the same time, due to the events of September 11th we also made a 2-metre diameter Globe - " a world without borders" where participants made flowers to fill in the landmass.
 
 

THAMES FESTIVAL 2000

 
  Waterloo mass camp, costumes made to compliment 'Shademakers' Ants and birds.
Workshops were run for three evenings leading up to the weekend with local projects, adults and children enthusiastically worked towards the procession.
